Why I built NKALI
There's a version of this story where I continue building partnerships for corporate Canada, helping other companies grow their revenue, and never saying out loud what I kept seeing.
But I couldn't ignore it.
While working in corporate partnerships, I spent years identifying organizations that could become valuable business partners. Again and again, I met remarkable women entrepreneurs. They had great businesses. Strong products. Real expertise. Incredible potential.
But when it came time to structure partnerships, the same challenges kept appearing. The systems weren't in place. The business wasn't partnership-ready. The growth strategy wasn't clear. As a result, opportunities that should have been theirs went elsewhere. It wasn't because these women weren't capable. They absolutely were. No one had shown them how to prepare their businesses for sustainable growth. And that stayed with me.
As I began working directly with women entrepreneurs, another pattern emerged. Many already knew what they needed to do. They had the ideas. They had the vision. They had the talent. Yet they weren't taking action. Not because they lacked ambition. But because doubt had quietly taken over. Perfectionism had become procrastination. Excuses had become comfortable. And there was no one beside them saying, *"You've waited long enough. Let's do the work."*
That realization became the foundation of Nkali.
I built Nkali to change both of those things.

Meet Chizoba Obidigbo-Egbo
I'm Chizoba Obidigbo-Egbo. Partnership Strategist, Accountability Coach, and founder of Nkali.
I built Nkali as a platform where women entrepreneurs come to grow their income, build strategic partnerships, and become better than who they were yesterday. I'm Canadian-Nigerian, based in Burlington, Ontario. I've spent over a decade in corporate Canada, including driving $6M in partnership revenue at LifeWorks. For four years, I've worked directly with women founders through mentorship, masterclasses, and one-on-one coaching.
The heritage behind the name:
In Igbo, "Nkali" means "to be greater than." Growing up in Nigeria, I heard it as comparison. "Why aren't you like her?" It took years to understand that being greater doesn't mean being better than others. It means being better than who you were yesterday. That's the mission.
